Filming is underway for Fox’s new Batman-ish tv venture, Gotham. The show centers on a young Jim Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie) and his rough-and-tumble mentor Harvey Bullock (played by Donal Logue). Bullock has appeared in many different Batman media over the years sometimes as a run-of-the-mill corrupt cop, and other times as a more earnest good guy just trying to do his part in cleaning up Gotham’s nasty, scummy streets. It’s anyone’s guess at this point how Bullock will be portrayed, but it would make sense—and be potentially thrilling—to have Bullock wrestle with corruption while Selena Kyle (played by Camren Bicondova) rides a similar arc.

Question: Like the Green Arrow and his mask, will Gordon don the mustache in season 2? One can only hope.

And of course, check out Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin played by Robin Lord Taylor [POTENTIAL SPOILERS in the photo]. He’s got the Penguin’s round spectacles and his greasy hair, but that’s about it. Based on the fact that Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin isn’t uncommonly short, do you think Fox’s Gotham will be taking all of its cues from Christopher Nolan’s realist take on Batman’s universe?
